With the AD27e, Taylor has introduced something new, and a little unusual, to the guitar world: a Maple top. We we're eager to try out the guitar here at The Fret House, and we we're suitably impressed: the maple top seems to impart a clear and natural sort of compression that makes the guitar sound incredibly good when strumming chords. There is a fantastic balance and blending that makes a big strummed chord really speak. We wouldn't discount the AD27e for fingerpicking or soloing by any means, but the strummed sound really stood out for us. We think this guitar would be great for accompanying vocals or sitting well in a mix. The Grand Pacific body shape and V-class bracing seem to be an ideal platform for the maple top. The flame maple top looks great as well.
