This custom made Taylor guitar combines a unique set of design features and aesthetic enhancements in a one-of-a-kind combination that may just be your dream guitar. The combination of twelve fret body, short scale and maple back and sides all contribute to this instrument's distinctive qualities.
Twelve fret guitars, where the body joins the neck at the twelfth fret, rather that the more common fourteenth, have a distinctive character, due to the fact that the bridge, sound hole and bracing are all in a different relationship. These guitars tend to have good endowments of warmth and sustain.
Short scale guitars, those under 25.5", have been popular with our customers lately, partly because they are easier on the hands (there is less string tension and the frets are slightly close together). Short scale guitars tend to have a rich tone are well suited to fingerstyle playing or those with a light touch.
When you put all of the above together with the maple Grand Auditorium body you get a guitar with an amazing, distinctive tone. The bass notes have a strong piano like quality and the high notes are very rich and full. Visually speaking, the guitar is stunning, combining AA grade quilted maple and vivid cocobolo binding.
