Taylor 812ce 12-Fret LTD, Special Edition 2018, Redwood/Rosewood
|Back/Side Wood||Indian Rosewood|
|Fingerboard Wood||Smoky Ebony|
For 2018, Taylor has unveiled a limited run of special edition variations on their already renowned series. Here at The Fret House, we're pleased to be housing and eager to show you the fruits of Taylor's labor- the Taylor 812ce 12-Fret LTD. Redwood, while not a conventional tonewood, is cherished among those in-the-know for its effortless blending of two tonal palettes: cedar and spruce. With your first strum, you'll be forced to take notice of the crispness of the 812ce LTD's timbre and its compelling sustain, common of spruce, along with its warm, brass-like tones, typical of cedar. Although unlike cedar, redwood has the notable capability to be driven much harder before breaking up, which promises that you'll be heard in any un-plugged setting. The natural acoustic characteristics of redwood are only amplified when paired with Taylor's signature hide-wood affixed Performance Bracing, which boast an even greater balance of tone along with a magnified eminence. When applied to a stage application, one can rely on Taylor's esteemed ES2 electronics to take the timbre sculpting to an even further degree, at any volume. Ornamented with pale maple binding, rosewood top-edge trim, ebony tuner buttons, and topped-off with mother-of-pearl "Element" inlays, the Taylor 812ce 12-Fret LTD is both a joy to gaze upon and to play.
