Following Martin's campaign of re-imagining their Standard Series, the D-41 has received a much needed contemporizing for 2018, while still maintaining the integrity and charm that originally won us over, back in 1969. At first glance, one might be inclined to note the abalone appointments spread across the guitar, or perhaps the golden open-back tuners, but upon holding the guitar, you're forced to regard the finer changes made under-the-hood. Initially, your hands will notice the modified low-oval neck and High Performance Taper, and with your first strum, you'll be greeted with the sound of hand-carved forward shifted bracing, which promises not only a richer, more complex tone, but a greater bass response. For the past 49 years the D-41 has never failed to impress, and it's current iteration is no exception.
